first week of summer :)

 heyyyyy it's been a minute.

i'm in summer break now LETS GOOOOOObut i literally got sick The day of my last final so that's kinda fucked up.

my last final was exactly one week ago and i'm still not quite better yet but i'm getting there. i like completely lost my voice which was the annoying part cuz i've so been looking forward to having the free time to sing and play guitar. i've been doing it anyway thru the sick voice but it sounded fucking crazy.

but anyway, i've had a suuuuper eventful week and i wanted to just catch you guys up on how my first week of summer has been!!

FRIDAY 5/2/25

so after i finished my final i found two more four leaf clovers lucky lucky me! and then me n em went to see lucy freakin dacus in concert! we super spontaneously got tickets like the day before and the show was so beautiful. we were like. all the way in the back but that's sometimes so nice cuz it becomes more about the music than the artist so me n em got to dance together a lot. it was also her 30th birthday so the whole show was just the sweetest. it was also at that theatre w the big beautiful iconic chicago sign!! we tried to go to the bean after but we got kicked out of the park cuz it was "closed." i think that's fucked up like. can nothing be public anymore damn. so we sat in the little island in the middle of the street with a view of the bean and smoked there. im trying to feel like i own this city a little more and i think it was good exposure therapy for em since she can be scared of getting in trouble for stuff. i'm not tho. if i'm not doing anything Bad who gives a fuck whether it's legal. idc take me to jail i need my freedom or i'm gonna freak tf out. this place has been domesticating me. then we kinda just ran around and explored the city until it got too cold. we found a bull statue and rode it and a sweet duo from the concert walked by and took our picture which is awesome cuz there are like. no pictures of the two of us that aren't selfies since we only hang out w each other hehe. we got cane's on the way home and it was a beautiful freakin night.

SATURDAY 5/3/25

on saturday em went away on a retreat thing so i was flyin solo for most of the day. my memory is bad af rn from being sick n tired n drinking but i think we got breakfast in the morning? don't quote me on that tho lol. but i went to goodwill to look for some outfit pieces since dior invited me to a party that was like sexy high school clique themed. i went as the sexy like republican club guy. i wish i took more pics cuz i was genuinely feelin myself in the fit lol. but yeah the party was so super awesome and i wish i had stayed longer but this group of gays i know were leaving to go see this rare german expressionist film that was like long lost and is impossible to pirate so i actually could not resist that at all. plus one of the ppl in that group i had never met before but we had rlly good banter n chemistry at the party and i rlly liked her so i was glad i got to spend time w her. when i got to the theatre i threw up in the brathroom cuz i'm dumb as fuck and got crossed even tho i knoooow that doesn't work for me. esp cuz i drank more than i meant to and then rode in a car which is Never a good combo for me. and i still felt dizzy asf in the movie but it was actually the coolest thing i've ever seen (i tracked down and bought a dvd immediately the next day and i Cannot wait to watch it sober). its called cathedral of new emotions and it felt very similar to what i want to do artistically so like. Loved it duh. after the movie i threw up again then ate half a full thing of popcorn and felt way better. ace drove me all the way home which is so sweet n i peacefully passed tf out :)

SUNDAY 5/4/25

sunday is lowkey a lost media day because i don't remember. i woke up late n just hung out at home. i was still like way sick so i was just takin it easy. i worked on some crafts n cleaned up the apartment a lil. in the evening me n em saw the surfer at the amc and it was really fuckin awesome. 9/10 reccomend.

MONDAY 5/5/25

just realizing i fully forgot it was my half birthday this day so that sucks. but we went to yet another concert! this time it was june henry and they were so so so awesomeeee. it was at the beat kitchen and their openers were also the coolest. it was sock museum, the last arizona, and everybody's worried about owen. all gay trans folk punk ppl which is always a perfect vibe. the crowd was a little shy so there wasn't much dancing boooo but i think it's cuz it was a lot of younger iphone ppl so like. hopefully they'll learn soon. i keep not taking any pics anywhere i go which sucks cuz i have a goldfish memory but it's also been rlly good to live in the moment. we smoked for that concert too and it gave us a very focused vibe which is kinda funny hehe. i spilled water on my crotch in the photo booth cuz i'm just that #awesome. but yeah genuinely such a fucking good like life affirming art affirming concert and it made me so happy to be in the midwest so i'm finally somewhere the folk punk bands make it to. my freakin people.

TUESDAY 5/6/25

tuesday we woke up n went to collectivo. i have this rare condition where when i see someone with an iced matcha latte online i actually need one instantly. so i had to fulfill my urges. then i spilled it all over my shirt and crotch once again. two piss pants situations back to back like. what is going on w me. once em got home from school we popped an eddy and caught the metra to subterranean to see shauna dean cokeland!! we missed the one we meant to catch so we missed the opener but it was fine. i had a really good time w em. we were both in rlly good spirits this day. when we got to the venue there was a huge line of like. visibly chronically online like young people chainsmoking in the least cool looking way along the wall and it was kinda cute tbh. like in an awww babies way. so yeah it was another sorta tiktok crowd but i wasn't bothered. it seemed like they were at least really eager to like. be present and off the phones n stuff so it was a super loving environment. SDC rocked the fuckin house. she was like so much more awesome than i even expected and also like. truly radically punk i literally love her. free furniture will probably tour w her one day i know it. she also ended with heel turn 2 and me and em looked old as fuck being the only ones in the crowd who knew the words hehe. awesome concert i loved every second and it ended early enough for us to catch the last metra home. beautiful day!!!!

WEDNESDAY 5/7/25

wednesday em invited me on a date to hoosier mama and we ate so much pie we both felt sick for a long time after. classic way to start the day. when em was at school i don't even know what i did. my days while em is in class have all looked pretty similar this week. i clean the apartment a little then i play a lot of guitar. my poor neighbors. i finally have a guitar strat so i've been playing standing which is literally making me understand the whole point of playing guitar. i feel like a rockstar. i'm having a lil concert in my apartment in a few weeks but that's currently unnanounced in the evening we saw a movie called clown in a corn maze that was rlly good but also soooo fuckin bad.

THURSDAY 5/8/25

thursday morning i just chilled n took it easy. me n em played some just dance which is always lit asf. then i went downtown to see the senior capstone art show. it was the closing reception so there was a bunch of free food and i saw a lot of my friends. everyone made such cool art, it was so inspiring and only a little intimidating. when i got back me n em went right to goodwill to look for outfits for dillo day. i'm mostly using stuff i have already but em found some goooood stuff. she looks so pretty in all her new femme stuff. it makes me so happy to shop w her. then we went straight to chili's n feasted. the marg of the month went craazzzyyy. it's the radical rita and it "changes colors" which means there was pink liquid on bottom and blue on top and it became purple when u mixed it up. still awesome tho. we once again ate so much we felt fucking awful then went home n went catatonic for a while. we watched this movie called heavenly creatures that isn't a lesbian movie but it definitely is. it's free on youtube and i HIGHLY reccomend it. i'll even link it here.

FRIDAY 5/9/25

and that brings us to today! me n em made a big beautiful breakfast n i cleaned the apartment and have been working on this blog post :) i'm gonna play just dance after this and then we're seeing apes of the state later!! i think i'll come edit this post n let u know how it was so we get a full friday to friday update. anyway i love this blog and if you're reading this i love you.

jk i lied i decided to kinda give it its own post hehe. some things that i didn't say in that post tho are that after the show em climbed this bull sculpture n it was super impressive. then we got turned away from a mcdonalds that was open to cars only BOOO HISSSSSS. but we ended up at wendy's and had the most perfect beautiful feast before making it back to the metra station just in time to get home. life is beautiful.
